Senator Bukola Saraki Senate President |
The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria this morning
announced chairmen for three special committees and one ad hoc committee. Among
those announced by Senate President, Bukola Saraki, are Senator Samuel Anyanwu,
who moved the motion for a Vote of Confidence on Saraki. He was rewarded with the
Ethics Committee Chairman.
Senator Dino Melaye
who escorted Saraki’s wife to the office of the Economic and financial Crimes
Commission (EFCC) yesterday was appointed Chairman, Ad hoc Committee on
Publicity.

Others are Senator Babajide
Omoworare, Chairman, Rules and Business Committee and Senator Ibrahim Gobir, Chairman,
Senate Services Committee, respectively.
The decision is in
consonance of Order 96 of the Senate Standing Order 2015 which makes provision
for the establishment of the committees in the first fourteen legislative days
of the senate.
The Selection Committee headed by the Senate
President and consisting of all principal officers had earlier been composed. Other
special committees yet to be established are Public Accounts Committee and
Committee on National Security and Intelligence.
